E-commerce Store Development
We build turnkey online stores: product catalog, shopping cart, payment processing, shipping, and integration with accounting systems. Not just a storefront, but a tool that makes it easy to sell and manage your business on a daily basis.
What's Included in the Online Store
- Catalog — categories, filters, search, product options (size, color, configuration).
- Product Page — Gallery, specifications, availability, related products.
- Shopping Cart and Design — a short form that does not require registration.
- Payment — LiqPay, Fondy, WayForPay, credit card, or cash on delivery.
- Shipping — Nova Poshta (with the option to select a branch right in the form), Ukrposhta, or pickup.
- Admin Panel — products, orders, statuses, discounts, promo codes.
- Integrations — CRM, 1C, e-commerce platforms, Google Merchant.
What we use
For most stores, we use WooCommerce: it has an intuitive admin panel, ready-made modules for Ukrainian payment systems and shipping, and there’s no monthly platform fee. For complex logic or a large product range, we build a custom solution.
Choosing a platform isn't a matter of trend, but a matter of how much you'll pay for changes a year from now.
What Affects the Duration and Cost
- Size of the product range — 50 products and 20,000 products are two different scenarios: the latter requires import functionality, filters, and a fast search.
- Number of integrations — Every payment, delivery, or exchange involves a separate technical task, tests, and error handling.
- Content Readiness — If there are photos and descriptions, the savings are significant.
The typical duration is 8 to 16 weeks. Calculate Your Store's Profits You can do it in three steps.
A store that sells
The technical side is only half the battle. We immediately lay the groundwork for what a store needs to be successful:
- Fast catalog loading on mobile devices—that's where most customers come from;
- URL structure and category pages optimized for search queries;
- Product micro-listings—price and availability are displayed directly in Google search results;
- E-commerce analytics: It shows at which step people abandon their shopping carts.
Why traffic doesn't always turn into orders—we break it down in this article "Why Isn't the Website Generating Leads?".
Work Sample
Wholesale clothing store in Chernihiv — a catalog featuring a wide selection and wholesale pricing: View the case study.
How the Work Is Done
1. Brief and catalog structure — 3–7 days
The most important part of an online store: categories, product details, filters, and product variations. Redesigning the catalog after launch costs more than the initial development and usually results in a drop in search rankings.
2. Prototypes of key pages — 3–5 days
Home page, category page, product detail page, shopping cart, checkout. These five screens are where it’s decided whether a customer will make a purchase or leave.
3. Design — 2–3 weeks
Unique layouts for the desktop and mobile versions, button and form states, and empty states (no products, no search results)—these are the things that are often overlooked and end up looking broken.
4. Development — 4–8 weeks
Layout, catalog, shopping cart, payment options, shipping, admin panel, integrations with accounting and CRM systems, product import.
5. Content creation and testing — 1–3 weeks
Importing products, test orders with actual payments and invoices, and checking emails and statuses.
What else should you plan for right away?
- Importing and Updating Products — from a spreadsheet, YML, or an accounting system. Manually managing a thousand items is not feasible.
- Wholesale Terms — separate prices or a dedicated area for dealers, if you have a wholesale division.
- Multilingualism — with separate URLs for each language; otherwise, Google will treat them as duplicates.
- Letters to the Customer — Order confirmation, status updates, waybill. A small thing that cuts support calls in half.
- Product Feeds — for Google Merchant and marketplaces, if you plan to sell there as well. We’ve covered when this is a good idea in the article your own website or marketplace.
What do you have left?
- the domain, hosting, and payment accounts are registered in your name;
- an admin panel where your manager can manage products, orders, and discounts without a developer;
- output files and code upon completion of the work;
- instructions and training for the team;
- warranty period after startup.
