What was taken into account in the niche

The media thrives on archives. Content published three years ago continues to drive readers from search engines—provided it can be found and read comfortably. That’s why, in projects like these, the main focus isn’t on graphics, but on structure, navigation, and typography.

The second characteristic is long texts. People don’t skim through literary publications; they spend several minutes on each page. If a line is too long, the font is too small, and the line spacing is too tight, the reader gets tired and closes the tab halfway through.

Site Structure

  • Post Feed with sections such as news, articles, interviews, and events.
  • Archive with a search of the materials.
  • Authors' Pages — In a literary publication, the author’s name is in itself a reason to read it.
  • Article Page, designed for extended reading.

Technical Solutions

  • The typography is optimized for reading: font size, line spacing, and column width—rather than the theme’s default settings.
  • The structure of the categories and page URLs is designed so that the archive is indexed and drives search traffic.
  • The editorial staff publishes the content independently, without the developer's involvement.
  • Reading on a phone or tablet as a separate experience, rather than a "scaled-down version of the desktop."

What the client received

  • A website that is entirely managed by the editorial staff.
  • An archive that serves as a steady source of visitors.
  • A structure designed to accommodate an increasing volume of materials.
