Panda Sushi — Sushi Delivery: Menu, Online Ordering, Delivery.
Task
People order food quickly and almost always by phone. The entire process—from the menu to order confirmation—had to be completed in just a few taps.
What They Did
- a menu with categories and mouthwatering photos of dishes
- a shopping cart that retains the selected items when switching between sections
- Short Order Form with Delivery
- The mobile version as the primary use case
Details
When it comes to food delivery, speed is key: every extra second it takes to load the menu means a lost order.

What was taken into account in the niche
Food delivery is the fastest purchasing scenario of all. A person is hungry, makes a decision right away, and almost always does so from their phone. There’s no “compare and come back tomorrow” stage here: either the order is placed in a couple of minutes, or the customer goes to a competitor who opened their business sooner.
This leads to two consequences. First: menu loading speed isn’t just a technical detail—it’s a direct factor in revenue. Second: every extra field on an order form reduces the number of orders.
Site Structure
- Menu with categories: rolls, sets, drinks, and sides—with a photo of each dish.
- Menu Item Regarding composition and weight: in sushi, this is part of the solution.
- Shopping Cart, which retains your selection when switching between categories.
- Design with a minimum number of fields and a choice of shipping method.
Technical Solutions
- Photos of dishes are compressed and loaded later: otherwise, a menu with several dozen items would load slowly.
- The shopping cart is designed so that selections aren't lost—the most common reason for abandoned orders in online shopping.
- The mobile version as the primary scenario: that's where most orders come from.
- The menu and prices are edited in the admin panel—the restaurant updates them on its own.
What the client received
- An ordering website managed by the establishment itself: dishes, prices, photos, and availability.
- Orders that come into the admin panel and are copied to email.
- A structure suitable for seasonal promotions and new menu items.
The project's format is similar to online store: catalog, shopping cart, checkout. The article explains why speed is critical here Website Speed: How to Check It and What to Fix First.
