Crop an image online

Crop your photo to the desired aspect ratio—square for your profile picture, 16:9 for your cover photo, 9:16 for Stories. Right in your browser: the file isn't uploaded anywhere and doesn't end up on a server.

Drag the image here

or · JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP

The image is processed in your browser and is not downloaded anywhere. During transcoding, EXIF metadata—including the GPS coordinates of the shot—is removed from the file.

What sizes are for what

Ratio Where it is used
1:1 Avatar, product photo in the catalog, post in the feed
16:9 Article cover, video preview, website banner
4:3 and 3:2 Classic photos from a camera and a phone
9:16 Stories, Reels, vertical banners
3:4 Vertical photo in the product listing, portrait

How to Use

  1. Drag the image into the window or select a file.
  2. Select an aspect ratio—the frame will adjust immediately. Or leave it on "free" and drag it however you like.
  3. Move the frame and drag the corners to set the composition. The rule-of-thirds grid helps you level the horizon and place the main subject at a key point.
  4. If necessary, specify the width of the result—the height will be recalculated automatically, and the proportions will be preserved.
  5. Click "Crop and Download."

Which format should I choose?

If the image is still too large after cropping, reduce its file size using our tool image compression. And this will help you remove the background from a product photo background removal.

Why is the content truncated in the browser?

Online services usually upload your file to a third-party server—and you don’t know how long it stays there. Here, the processing takes place right in your browser: once you open the page, the tool works even without an internet connection, and the photo never leaves your computer.

A side effect of recoding is actually useful: EXIF metadata—including the GPS coordinates of the shooting location—is removed from the file. This is exactly what you should remove before posting photos online.
