How to Take a Photo That Will Be Accepted
- A light, solid-color background. Stand a step away from the wall so there are no shadows.
- Even lighting — It's best to take a photo during the day through a window, without a flash and without harsh shadows on the face.
- The face occupies 70–80% of the frame's height, looking directly into the camera, with a neutral expression.
- Without hats or sunglasses, the hair does not cover the face's contours.
- Take photos with the main camera, rather than a front-facing one: it produces less distortion and captures more detail.
How to Use
- Upload a portrait and select a format—the frame automatically maintains the correct aspect ratio.
- Move the frame so that the head is centered and there is a small gap above the crown of the head.
- Save one photo—or a 10×15 sheet with several copies, which you can have printed at any photo shop for the price of a single photo.
Files are saved at 300 dpi—that’s the resolution required for printing. If the tool indicates that the selected area is too small, use a photo with a higher resolution: a small photo that’s been stretched will appear blurry.
What this tool doesn't do
It does not retouch faces, does not automatically change the background to white, and does not check for compliance with the requirements of a specific institution. If you specifically need a white background, first remove the existing one by background removal and place the white one there, then come back here to adjust the framing.
