The photo is processed in your browser and is not uploaded anywhere. This tool is designed for solid-color backgrounds: product photos, logos, and screenshots. For complex backgrounds with a lot of detail, the result will be inaccurate.
Two modes—why?
Quick: by color
Removes the background by filling in from the edges or from the point you clicked on. Works instantly; no downloads required. Ideal for solid-color backgrounds: product shots on a white background, logos, and screenshots.
Smart: A Neural Network in the Browser
The model automatically identifies the main subject and separates it from the background—even if the background is busy or has a gradient. This is exactly the mode you need for photos of people, animals, and objects in interiors.
The model is loaded once and then remains in the browser cache. There are two options:
- 4 MB — It's fast; it's enough for most photos. The first time it starts up takes a few seconds; subsequent starts take about 2–3 seconds.
- 43 MB — It's more accurate on complex shapes. The first load takes up to half a minute, depending on your internet connection; after that, it runs from the cache.
The processing takes place on your device: the photo is not uploaded to our server or anywhere else. This is the main difference from online services, which upload your file to third-party servers.
When to Choose Which Regimen

How to Use
- Upload an image—the tool will immediately try to remove the background using a quick method.
- If the result is garbled, switch to smart mode and wait for the model to load.
- Use the quick mode to control permit: The smaller option removes only very similar colors, while the larger option removes a wider range. If the background is multicolored, select “the color I click on” and click on the desired area.
- Softness of the edge Removes the "scissor-cut" effect—1 or 2 are usually enough.
- If necessary, change the background to white or a color of your choice—this is useful for product cards.
- Upload a PNG.
Tips for Better Results
- For product photography, use a flat background without shadows—it's the shadows that most often remain after editing.
- Make sure the object's color doesn't match the background: a white cup on a white background won't stand out in any mode.
- For the catalog, change the background to white right away—this will give the cards a uniform look.
- The final PNG file is usually larger than the original JPEG. Before uploading it to the website, run it through compression, and speed up the frame pruning.
What's Under the Hood
The smart mode runs on the U²-Net model (Apache 2.0 license) via ONNX Runtime Web. Both files are hosted on our server and sent to your browser—no third-party services are involved in the process. The large model is a variant of Silueta with the same architecture, trained to produce a cleaner outline.
